Dr. Leibensperger graduated magna cum laude from Duke University in 1982. He received his M.D. degree from Penn State University College of Medicine in 1986, and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
He completed a Family Practice Residency at UPMC St. Margaret and is Board Certified in Family Practice and has held additional certification in Geriatrics.
He has supported Heritage Valley Kennedy as the former President of the medical staff, and prior to that as chairman of the department of medicine. He currently serves on the HVS Critical Care Committee. Dr. Leibensperger was formerly a preceptor for the Family Practice Residency Program at Washington Hospital.
Dr. Leibensperger lives with his wife in the North Hills area, his daughter is an Environmental Engineer in Chicago, and his son is completing his Anesthesia Residency in New York City. He enjoys golf, pickleball and the arts. Dr. Leibensperger has a special interest in seeing entire families.
