Dr. Sauer is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He graduated with honors in Chemical Engineering for Clarkson College of Technology and received his Medical Degree at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. He completed a three year residency in Family Practice at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse and received a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics in 1992. Dr. Sauer has received the Physician Recognition Award for Continuing Medical Education from 1992 to present. He also received Degree of Fellow in Family Practice in 1994.
Dr. Sauer has for many years supported Heritage Valley Kennedy in various capacities, including President and Secretary/Treasurer of the Medical Staff, and as chairman of numerous committees, including Quality Counsel, Risk Management, Pharmacy, Utilization Review, Strategic Planning and served on the Board of Directors. Additionally, he is also the Medical Director for the Residence at Willow Lane.
Dr. Sauer enjoys outdoor sports with his family.
